Belsy TriguerosFlagstaff, Arizona

Red Lodge Clay Center – Short-Term Resident (ASPN) 2025

Belsy Trigueros was born and raised in the small border town of Yuma in southern Arizona. Predominantly a ceramic sculptor, she derives inspiration from her natural surroundings and her Mexican culture. She is currently a Junior BFA student with an emphasis in ceramics at Northern Arizona University. Some of Belsy’s other interests are hiking in the desert, the mountains and cooking.

“I tend to draw inspiration from nature, but my work can also be figurative in the form with humans or animals. Cultural or religious icons from Mexico and South America often appear or are a focus point in my work. As a Mexican Artist, my work embraces rugged and textured forms that evoke the raw beauty of nature and my heritage. My pieces celebrate the imperfections and organic shapes creating a tactile dialogue between the sacred, the cultural and earth itself.”- Trigueros
