How does one make work that is about absence? Guest curated by Naomi Clement, Always. Maybe. Sometimes. will showcases artists whose work deals with the uncomfortable and murky territory that lives between loneliness and belonging. A no man’s land of grief that sits in our bodies as we long for a place/person/feeling/time/connection that may not exist.
“A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It is a reaching-out toward expression; an effort to find fulfillment. A complete poem is one where an emotion finds the thought and the thought finds the words.” — Robert Frost
Participating artists include Nicole Aquillano, Jessica Brandl, Naomi Clement, Janice Cormier, Carole Epp, Jill Oberman, Ashlyn Pope, Camille Delgado Sales, and Amanda Salov.
