“Everyday moments engage with the function of objects that orbit and facilitate our lives. These moments slowly become automated and more distant from the considered touch of the human hand. My work focuses on bringing back the presence of handmade objects into these everyday moments. Through creating functional ceramic forms, I elevate the experience of the objects that facilitate our lives, infusing them with beauty and purpose.
I create forms on the wheel where I then shape and alter the clay through the use of stamps and carved texture to achieve an aesthetic appeal based in balance, functionality, and texture. The visual and tactile qualities of the forms invites touch and engagement to spark the enjoyment of the experience of these object and the moments we share with them.”
