Red Lodge Clay Center – Summer Resident 2023
Jesse Baggett currently lives in Wichita Falls, TX. She graduated from Midwestern State University in 2014 with a BFA and Teacher Certification. Jesse majored in Ceramics and minored in Printmaking. For four years Jesse taught high school art and for two years she taught AP Art History. She is still active in the MSU art department via their continuing ed program. She is a member of the Chisholm Trail Arts Council, and is currently exhibiting art in the Wildfire Gallery on Paseo in OKC. Jesse and collaborator, Steve Hilton, recently completed “Better Together”, a large ceramic mural in downtown Wichita Falls, TX. Jesse is also the winner of the 2023 National Art Battle Championship. In the Fall of 2023, she will be attending West Virginia University in their ceramics graduate program.
Jesse celebrates the places she has lived and loved by using the imagery of local wildlife. She uses these animals to explore personalities, relationships, and perceptions of various themes throughout art history.
