A calming contrast to the rugged wood fire work in “Tomodachi Too”: slow, sleek porcelain from Dan Schmitt.
“From 1998 until 2008 I developed and produced a line of hand thrown porcelain tableware. This body of work is made from a high temperature Grolleg porcelain covered in a transparent glaze to highlight the line and mark making from the throwing process. The work is fired to 2385 Fahrenheit in an oxidation atmosphere giving the work a warm butter like color.”
